Eppendorf Safe-Lock microcentrifuge tubes are graduated and have a frosted labeling surface. A small hook on the hinged lid clips around the rim of the tube to prevent accidental opening during heating. The tubes offer maximum safety for expensive or toxic samples, radioactive substances or DNA. 1.5 ml tubes can be centrifuged at forces up to 30,000 x g (higher in form-fitting rotors).

The tubes can be autoclaved when open (121 °, 20 min).
