Use with 0.5-10 µl pipettes or the new 2-20 µl ErgoOne with ultra micro tip cone. TipOne® filter tips have a hydrophobic filter made of ultra high-density polyethylene. The filter traps aerosols and airborne contaminants, greatly reducing the risk of sample carry-over and cross contamination. If your sample comes in contact with the filter, it will not be sealed within the tip. You may still dispense the sample for further use.

Each hinged rack is individually sealed in plastic and has a tear strip for easy opening without sharp instruments.

The Importance of Filter Tips

Any lab using air displacement pipettors is at risk for carryover of contaminants. As you aspirate, tiny amounts of sample can become aerosolized and enter the air space within the pipettor nosecone. Subsequent samples may be exposed to this contamination as air is displaced from the pipettor during dispensing. Todays laboratory procedures are becoming increasingly sensitive. Contamination can greatly affect experiments, resulting in a significant loss of time and/or rare samples. The right filter tips can prevent this loss and save the cost of laboratory reagents for repeated experiments.

Filter tips are also effective in keeping pipettor nosecones free from isotope contamination. The hydrophobic filters block accidental splashes or hot aerosols from contacting the pipettor. Liquid that comes in contact with the filter may be retrieved if necessary.
